In My Garden Challenge

Hello my friends!  Before I get into all the fun challenge stuff I want to take this opportunity to say that my thoughts and prayers go out to all the victims and their families after the horrific events that took place today in Boston.

Today is the start of another challenge for the Sunshine Mail Foundation.  The theme for this challenge is 'In My Garden' and it runs from April 15th thru May 1st.

The sponsor for this challenge is  Oak Pond Creations and to be entered in the random drawing you need to:

1.  Link your card to the challenge post starting on the 15th.
2.  Post on your blog or SCS Gallery about our April Card Drive (see details below) with the link to Sunshine Mail blog.
3.  MOST IMPORTANT is send in cards!!  Send in 1 or more, signed cards, and does not have to be the card entered in the challenge.   CLICK HERE for Card guidelines.

Now Oak Pond Creations is also having a wonderful give away for the Birthday Bash on their blog.  Check out their blog for more info.  You won't want to miss out on this huge haul of wonderful stuff!!

Sunshine Mail Foundation is having an April Card Drive because they really are in need of cards for their kids, so you should enter to win a fabulous prize package:  JoAnn's $20 gift card, Teddy Bo gift voucher, Spellbinder die, Card Makere magazine, unmounted rubber stamps from Unity, Layers of Love, Inkadinkadoo, Stampsmith, Stampin' Up ink pad, embellishments of flowers, charms and more from Little Yellow Bicycle.

Here is the card I made for this challenge.  This cutie of a digital image is called 'Kona the Gardener' and he's such a big help in the garden.  He's colored with lots of COPICS and the patterned paper used is from an older 6x6 paper pad from BasicGrey called 'Max and Whiskers'.

Hope everyone will enter the chance to win all these fabulous prizes.  Thanks for stopping by and I hope to see you again soon.

Paper Nest Dolls First Challenge

Hello my friends.  I have about an hour to post an entry on the Paper Nest Dolls challenge blog.  It's there first challenge ever and it's an 'Anything Goes' challenge.  One of my good friends Valerie (from Valbydesign.com) is on their design team.  They have the cutest little images on their website.

I didn't have time to color in a brand new image so I found one that I hadn't posted before so I thought I would use it.  It's a card I made for my sweetie last year for his birthday.  It's not an image I would normally put on any old card but for him it seemed perfect.  It's an image from Kenny K Designs and she's called 'Alice Chains'.

Unfortunately since I made the card almost a year ago I don't remember the papers I used or the color COPICS I colored her in with.  I really thought this came out cute.

Thanks for stopping by and I'll see you again soon.

Collage Background - Make It Monday Challenge #110

Hello my friends.  I've been following Nichole Heady's blog [capture the moment] and Papertrey Ink for a while now.  I love the products from Papertrey Ink.  Every Monday they run a new challenge and I've always wanted to participate.  Well, I've decided to bite the bullet and try one.  The prize is a $25 gift certificate to buy anything you want from the store.  YA-HOO.

This week the challenge is to use multiple stamps to create a collage background.  If you go the [capture the moment] blog you can watch a fabulous video from Dawn McVey on how to create a collage background.  Her card is gorgeous.  Check it out here:  capture the moment

Here's the card I made for the challenge.  I used a variety of ink colors from Stampin' Up (Crumb Cake, Tempting Turquoise, Wild Wasabi), Color Box (Chestnut Roan) and Papertrey Ink (Terracotta Tile).  The stamps I used are from Stampabilities (dots). Technique Tuesday (floral border), the sentiment is from Papertrey Ink and the 2 step flower/leaf stamp is a retired set from Stampin' Up (but they have current ones that are 2 step stamps that you could use).

The challenge ends at 7am on Monday, 4/8 so you have a little bit of time left to enter.  Good luck and have fun!

Thanks for stopping by and hope to see you again soon.
