Little Chick Avery

Hello my friends!  I have a cute little card to share for the next Paper Nest Dolls challenge.  This 'Anything Goes' challenge starts on 2/17 and ends on 2/28.  Winners will be announced on 3/2.

This image is called 'Little Chick Avery' and she is available as a rubber stamp image.  She was so fun to color.  I love her braids and the patchwork dress she's wearing!  Gave me a chance to use lots of color combinations.  I love the images Christine does and I especially love when they have sandals on....I love her cute little toes!
Here's a close of little Miss Avery! I normally color hair as brunette or maybe redhead...but I think this blonde combination is just lovely.  And it goes so well with the pastel colors!

We're offering to one grand prize winner (randomly selected) a $20 online gift certificate for the Top pick when a Paper Nest Dolls image is used in their entry.  One free digital image each for the Top 3 randomly selected entries (not required to use a Paper Nest Dolls image) will be given as well. Check out all the cute images at the Paper Nest Dolls online website and store HERE

Remember you have until 2/28 to enter your creations on the Paper Nest Challenge Blog HERE.  I can't wait to see what you create!

Thanks for stopping by and hope to see you again!

My Little Pony: Applejack Entry

Hello my friends.  I've heard (and seen on Facebook) that The Scrapbooking Queen is looking for a few colorists for her monthly challenge blog.  So I decided to give it a try.  She provided a free digital image to color...check it out HERE.

Here's my colored image of one of the 'My Little Pony' characters.  I think her name is Applejack.
Thanks for checking it out.  I'll keep you posted on the outcome!  Have a great week!

Crafty Chicks FEB Blog Hop

Welcome back my friends to February's monthly blog hop for the Crafty Chicks.  If you've stumbled upon this hop here's the Reader's Digest version of who we are.  We're a group of creative gals who met on the worldwide web and decided to come together and share out passion for all things paper crafty.
If you're coming from Julie's blog HERE you're in the right place.  If you happen to get lost or want to see the full line up you can find it here by going to Krysthle's blog HERE.

We have a wonderful sponsor this month.  3 Girl JAM is providing a $25 gift certificate to one winner who answers the following question - "Tell us the newest products released by 3 Girl JAM".  Check out 3 Girl JAM's website HERE and add your answer to their blog for a change to win. Since the hop starts today, 2/7, you have until 2/14 to enter.  Winner will be contacted on 2/15.

This month we're having what we call a 'Free for all' hop.  You may know it as an 'Anything Goes' hop.  You'll see a lot of great projects along the way.  I have a baby card to show you.  I have this really cute stamp set from Newton's Nook Designs.  I stamped the images and then using masks, I inked all around the center piece with a couple of distress inks.  The rays of the sun were made by running cardstock through an embossing folder, cutting into pieces and then cutting a banner edge to each piece.  Easy peasy!

Then as a surprise I put another circle behind the main image, attached it with a brad and voila you now have a telescoping sentiment! I guess it wasn't much of a surprise since I really needed to cover all those glued pieces of sunshine rays!
The next stop in the blog hop is Renee and you can check out her amazing project HERE

If you're having a good time with this blog hop make sure to follow us on our individual blogs, Facebook, or any other social media the designers have set up.  Also, please feel free to share with your friends.

Thanks for stopping by and I hope to see you again next month!

Just a Little Blush - PND Challenge

Hello my friends!  I cannot believe it's the beginning of February already!  2014 is racing by!  It's time for another 'Anything Goes' challenge at the Paper Nest Dolls challenge blog. The challenge starts today, 2/3 and runs through Friday, 2/14 and all winners will be announced on the blog Sunday, 2/16.

I'm always looking for something new to try.  I see so much stuff in video's on youtube I need to make a list and keep it handy.  I saw a video on Amy Rysavy's website 'Prairie Paper and Ink'.  She made a card with an image that she only colored blush on the little girl and put a shadow under her feet.  You can check see Amy's post here.

Here's a picture of my card using the digital image 'Love Strung Ellie'.  I just used a little bit of blush (R00 and 0) to make the color on her cheeks very subtle.  Then I decided to add a little bit of color (R20) to the heart garland.  I had used C3, C1 and C0 for the shadow under feet and then I turned around and cut her out so you barely see any C3.  The flowers are from Wild Orchid Crafts and the paper is from Authentique. The sentiment was die cut from an old QuicKutz die set (I can't remember the name). I think this is the shortest list of supplies used I've ever had.

Here's a close up just in case you wanted to see what 'No color' looks like...hee hee!

Check out all the cute images at the Paper Nest Dolls online website and store HERE.
