What's Your Sign - Paper Nest Dolls

Hello my friends!!  Can you believe it's the last week of January??  Where has the time gone already?

The Paper Nest Dolls has changed their challenges for 2015 from a bi-weekly challenge to a monthly challenge.  The top winner will receive a prize pack varying each month and to be considered for this prize you must use a PND image.

Here is another one of my inspiration projects for this month's challenge.  I'm using an image from the Zodiac collection.  Even though my sign is actually Gemini - I'm using the Scorpio image today.

I've really been into creating backgrounds using a technique called a Herringbone pattern.  It's so much fun to do.
The papers used are from the 'Botanical Tea' paper pad by Graphic 45.  The sentiment is from the 'Salutations' set by Paper Smooches.  I used the Wink of Stella clear pen to add some shimmer to her dress.   Here's a close up:
The COPIC markers used to color this image are:
Skin:  E1/21/00/000 and R20
Hair:  E59/57/55
Dress: YG99/95/93
Scorpion: E18/15/13

Thanks for stopping by and don't forget you have until the end of January to submit your project for this month's challenge.  Add a direct link for your project to the challenge blog  HERE

You Are Too Kind - Action Wobble

Hello my friends!  Happy Monday to everyone!!!  I have another post today using an Action Wobble.

While I love coloring images, sometimes it just fun to play with different paper techniques.  This card uses a technique called a 'Herringbone" pattern.  Take a base piece of card stock (mine is 5.00 x 3.75 in) and cover with adhesive.  Cut strips of coordinating designer paper in different widths (i.e. 1/8, 1/4, 1/2 etc.).  Take three strips and create your quadrants (see the dark brownish strips).  Then in each of the four quadrants line up your strips (butting them next to each other) and trim off the excess.  Easy peasy!
I used an Action Wobble behind the sentiment.  While I usually try to get a picture of the wobble in action, this time I took a picture showing how you move the piece with the wobble on it.
Check out the Action Wobble website for more information........HERE.

Thanks for stopping and hope to see you again soon!

PND - Gone Fishing

Happy Monday to all my friends!  It feels good to be back creating cards for the Paper Nest Dolls challenges.  I have another 'Anything Goes' challenge for you!

My project today is a card using the cute image called 'Owen Fishing'. I always seem to gravitate towards the cute little girl dolls Avery, Ellie or Emma - so I decided to share the love and color up an Owen image.   The card base is a note card from Lawn Fawn in 'Freshly Cut Grass'.  The embellishments are from Pink Paislee 'Hello Sunshine' product line and the Gone Fishing sentiment is from a tiny, adhesive Tim Holtz alphabet set.
The only thing challenging with using a little boy image is that you really can't use frills and flowers when making a boy card.  But sometimes simple is best.  Here's a close up of the Copic coloring...

Love You - Action Wobble Inspiration

Happy New Year to everyone.  I've been away for a while recuperating from surgery and enjoying some time off for the holidays.  It's really good to get back into the creative mindset of card making.

Today I have an inspiration card for the Action Wobble design team challenge.  I'm using products from a company I recently found online called Reverse Confetti.  They have some of the cutest things.  The focal point of the card is a die cut that wraps around an envelop for decoration.  I decided to use it on a card instead.
There is a companion die that works with the envie wrap die that has circles and scallops as well.  The card base is a Lawn Fawn card in 'Sunflower' and the designer papers are from Pink Paislee 'Hello Sunshine' 6x6 pack. The words are from a My Favorite Things Die-Namics set 'Lots of Love' and the little embellishments are from coordinating sets from the 'Hello Sunshine' product line.

Here's what an action wobble looks like when you put it on the back of your focal point....
It's a little difficult to try to get a picture of an action wobble in action but I managed to get it done.  Here's what it looks like when you move it....
