Two Posts One Day!!!

WOW!!!! Can you believe it?  Two posts in one day.....well I wanted to make the earlier post to announce my participation on the Lets Make Greeting Cards (LMGC) design team.  Now I want to post a project I just made to enter some card challenges.  I think it's so cute....hope you like it too!

One of the challenges is to make a card 'anything but square' - what a great challenge.  We all tend to make cards within our comfort zone....typical A2 or maybe A6 size.....so I decided to make a round card.  But instead of just a plain circle card I used the 'Beaded' circles Spellbinder die to make the card.  I love this die!!!!

Using Candi pieces as embellishments around each of the 'beads' is so much fun and I think it looks great.  It's hard to tell in the picture but I've alternated shiny silver candi with pink candi.    The sentiment is from 'Big Words and Handy Additions' by AmyR Stamps by CC Designs.

I'm entering this card in the following challenges:

Cute Card Thursday - A Touch of Sparkle
Sassy Cheryl's - Anything but Square
Ladybug Crafts Ink - Anything but Square
Divas by Design - Tickled Pink
Crazy 4 Challenges - Birthday
Whimsy Stamps - Anything Goes
Sweet Stamps - My Favorite Color
Dutch Dare Card Challenge - Shaped Cards

That's all for now...thanks for stopping by.....

A benefit of being chosen as a member of a design team is receiving some free stuff!!!!  Now WHO doesn't love getting free stuff?   Here's a picture of everything I received...

The first paper pack is from Scenic Route 'Surprise' collection - it includes paper, chipboard letters and clear stamp set.

The second paper pack is from Echo Park 'This & That Graceful' collection.

The last paper pack is from SEI Simple Sets 'Savvy' collection - includes paper, patterned alphabet letters and really cool printed vellum sheets.  Also included is a carry tote from Little Yellow Bicycle (not pictured separately)

Welcome Baby Noah

Happy Mother's Day to all the wonderful mothers out there.  The wife of a friend of mine at work welcomed a baby boy on Cinco de Mayo Saturday.  Talk about a fabulous Mother's Day gift!  LOL! There's nothing like celebrating the birth of a baby!  I don't get to make baby cards too often and it was so much fun.  I love the color combination of blue and brown together.

The stamp I used was a digital stamp called 'Baby Shower' from Meljens Designs and it was colored with Copic markers.  The sentiment is from 'Big Words and Handy Additions' by AmyR Stamps from All That Scraps.  The papers are from the 'New Addition' collection from Pebbles.  The wood alphabet tiles are from Bottle Cap, Inc.  If you look closely you can also see some twine in the background under the main image and it's from Doodlebug.  Glue dots, pop dots and adhesive from my ATG gun will keep everything in place!

I'm entering this card in the following card challenges:

Papertake Weekly - Cute, Cute, Cute
Whimsy Stamps - Make It Pop
Diva by Design - One for the Boys
Wishcraft Waste Not Wednesday - using neglected and forgotten stash
Lily Pad Challenge - Rainy Day
Everybody Art challenge - Baby

Thanks for stopping by -

Flowers for Mom

It's almost that time....Mother's Day is right around the corner.  I'm trying to figure out what to do for my Mom to celebrate - she's almost 82 years old and lives with me so she has whatever she needs and doesn't really want for anything.  Her favorite thing nowadays is having an agenda...she asks me every day if there's something we need to do - run to the grocery store, go to the post office, go to the bank, etc.  So I suppose what will make her happy will be to run some errands on Sunday...grocery store here we come....Happy Mother's Day.

I want to share with you a Mother's Day card I made -. it's not a traditional folding A2 card - I believe the name of this type of card is a 'Joy folding' card.

The stamp is called 'Tilda with Bunch of Roses' from Magnolia-licious.  She's colored with Copics and the flowers have stickles.  The patterned papers are from Die Cuts with a View (DCWV) 'Linen Closet' mat stack.  I love the color combination with the kraft cardstock.  The sentiment on the front is perfect for my Mom (and for all Moms out there I suspect).  It's a wood stamp from Hero Arts and it's called 'Special Mom'.

A customer came into Archiver's over the weekend and I haven't seen her in a few years....we were talking about blogs, and cards and all things crafty....and she mentioned that I needed to start entering some card challenges - so I've done some checking and there are like a bazillion card challenges out there.  There are lots of different themes for the challenges (i.e. ribbon, anything goes, using dots, pink and glitzy, etc.)  You just have to find ones that suit your project.  So I found a bunch of them this card would work for - and I'm doing it....I'm entering this card in the following card challenges:

Aud Sentiments - Anything Goes
Just Magnolia - Anything Goes
Crafty Catz - Flowers
2 Sisters - Anything Goes
Paper Sundaes - Mother's Day
Sentimental Sundays - for a Special Woman
The Poodles Parlour - Anything Goes
Crafty Creations - Mother's Day
CMC Copic Challenge Group (Celebrate)
The Pink Elephant - All About Mom
Love to Create - Mom and/or Special Lady
Tuesday Throwdown - Motherly Love

That's all I have for today - thanks for stopping by! Happy Mother's Day to all the wonderful ladies out there!!
