A Color Challenge with The Scrapbooking Queen

Happy Tuesday everyone!

This month's challenge with The Scrapbooking Queen is a color challenge using any image we wanted but the colors needed to be orange, purple and brown.  I used the cutest brand new image from Simon Says Stamp called 'Trick or Treat'.

To find out more info on the challenge you can go to the challenge blog HERE.  Every entry in this challenge has an opportunity to win the 'Royal' prize pack from the Royal Castle Shoppe.

The mummy pup is colored with COPIC markers, the bats were stamped in VersaMark and embossed with a mixture of black detail and clear detail powders mixed together...I think it makes them extra shiny.  The Halloween die cut comes from the matching die set for the 'Trick or Treat' stamp set.  The twine is from Doodlebug Designs, Inc.

Here's a close up.....

Can't wait to see what you create!
Thanks for stopping by and hope to see you soon!

Life is Good with Paper Nest Dolls and Lawn Fawn

Happy Monday everyone!  The weather this weekend in the Mid West has been spectacular! Sunny and cool and really enjoyed opened windows and doors!

It's time for another challenge for The Paper Nest Dolls.  This one starts today, 9/29 and runs through Friday, 10/10/14.  Our challenges are normally just an 'Anything Goes' challenge but this time we thought we'd knock it up a notch and ask that you include ribbon on your projects.  The Grand Prize winner gets a mystery pack of stamps worth $25 and the top three get a free digital stamp of their choice.

I previously made the circle shaker using Lawn Fawn's 'Life is Good' stamp set with matching dies.  I wanted to use it so I decided to make a care using the digital image 'Sand Castle Owen'.  All the coloring is done with COPIC markers.
Here is a close up of the shaker element on the card....
For the panel behind the shaker card I used Tim Holtz Distress inks and the inside shaking sequins are from Doodlebug Designs, Inc.

There were a lot of COPIC markers used for the coloring, if you're interested in knowing which ones please let me know.

You can check out all the design team projects as well as any additional information needed on the Paper Nest Dolls Challenge blog by clicking HERE

Friends Fur-ever with Action Wobble

Happy Monday everyone!

I'm here this morning to provide some inspirational creativity from the
Action Wobble Design Team.

I made this cute little card for all those fur-baby parents!  All animals, especially dogs, are your friends Fur-Ever!!!  The pup was made with a die cut from LifeStyle Crafts which used  to be known as QuicKutz.  The papers are from BasicGrey 'Oliver' and 'Max and Whiskers'. I used an Action Wobble on the pup so he not only wags his tail but his entire body as well.  We all know that when dogs wag their tails there whole body shakes too.   Wow, I can't believe it but there is no COPIC coloring on this card at all!
Here is a close up of the Action Wobble, well....in action!
Thanks so much for stopping and I hope to see you again soon!

Rockin' That Poodle Skirt - PND Challenge

Hello my friends!  It's hard to believe it's technically still Summer but I'm sitting on my couch with a blanket in my lap drinking a cup of coffee!  The temps sure don't know it's still Summer....the high yesterday was in the mid 50's.  Feels like we're going to go straight from Summer into Winter and I love Fall so much that would disappoint me!!! Reminds me of a line from the movie 'A Fish Called Wanda' - dis-a-POINTED!

I have another Paper Nest Dolls 'Anything Goes' challenge for you!  It starts today, 9/15, and ends on Friday, 9/26.  'Anything Goes' challenges are great because you can make anything your heart desires!

My project today is a card using the cute image called 'Poodle Skirt Avery'. I love the poodle skirt - oh and the ice cream sundae ain't half bad either!

I love coloring these little dolls but I have a heck-a-va time with the hair.  But here's close up of cute little Avery.

Remember, you have until 9/26 to enter your creation.  You can check out all the design team projects as well as any additional information needed on the Paper Nest Dolls Challenge blog by clicking HERE

GO TEAM with an Action Wobble

Hello my friends and welcome to my project for the Action Wobbles Design Team. I made this cute little card using a digital image from Mo Manning called 'Gimme a B'.  I thought it was a perfect image to use since both school and football season have just started.
It's always a challenge to snap a pic while the action wobble is wobbling, but I managed to get it done!
Now if you don't know what an Action Wobble is, it's a little spring that you adhere to your card base and your die cut/cut out image that will make your image shake around.

I made this project a while ago and unfortunately I don't remember the COPIC markers used to color her. The sentiment is die cut from Lawn Fawn's Quinn's ABCs and colored with COPIC markers.

Thanks for stopping by and hope to see you again soon!

How 'Bout Them Apples - PND Challenge

Hello my friends!  I have another Paper Nest Dolls 'Anything Goes' challenge for you!  It starts today, 9/1, and ends on Friday, 9/12.  'Anything Goes' challenges are great because you can make anything your heart desires!

My project today is a card using the cute image called 'Country Apple Ellie'.  Since it's the beginning of September and in Wisconsin it's almost apple picking time I thought what a great idea to make a September Apple card.
If you look closely you can see Ellie's little toes peeking out from underneath the sentiment!  LOL!

Paper Nest Dolls Challenge

Hello my friends!  I have another Paper Nest Dolls 'Anything Goes' challenge for you!  It starts today, 8/18, and ends on Friday, 8/29.  'Anything Goes' challenges are great because you can make anything your heart desires!

My project today is a card using the cute image called 'Watering Can Ellie'.  It's an image that's a little older but I thought it was just perfect to use with the stamp/die cut sunflowers from Lawn Fawn called 'Our Friendship Grows'.  I also used the 'Say Cheese' die cut from Lawn Fawn for the little Polaroid frame.

Here's a close up of little Ellie.

Have a Fantastic Day with PND

Hello my friends.  Sorry I've been a little MIA lately.  At the end of June I did something to my neck and right arm and have been in a ton of pain.  Since I'm right handed it's difficult to hold a pen to write, let alone a COPIC marker to color.  I have managed over the last 3 weeks to color an image for today's Paper Nest Doll challenge.  This challenge starts today and runs through 8/15/14.

The red rubber image I used today is called 'Flower Bouquet Avery". I just love flowers!!!  I colored her with my Derwent Inktense Pencils and some water.  It's really, really, really clean and simple card....the only embellishments are the rhinestone brads in the center of some flowers.
Here's a close up of the colored image.
Now for some housekeeping - We're offering to one grand prize winner (randomly selected) a $20 online gift certificate for the Top pick when a Paper Nest Dolls image is used in their entry.  One free digital image each for the Top 3 randomly selected entries (not required to use a Paper Nest Dolls image) will be given as well.  Winners will be announced on the challenge blog on Sunday 8/17

Remember you have until 8/15 to enter your creations on the Paper Nest Challenge Blog HERE.  I can't wait to see what you create!

Thanks for stopping by and hope to see you again!

Yay! You Did It!! - with an Action Wobble

Hello my friends and welcome to my project for the Action Wobbles Design Team. I made this cute little wall hanging card using a Paper Nest Doll image called "Bubblegum Emma" and decided the cute thing to do was make one of the sentiments wobble.

An Action Wobble is a little spring that you adhere to your card base and your die cut/cut out image that will make your image shake around.  I was actually able to get a picture of the wobble in action....not as easy as you would think it would be.....

I made this project a while ago and unfortunately I don't remember the COPIC markers used to color her.  The sentiments came from a stamp set from Hero Arts called 'Yay'.

Thanks for stopping by and hope to see you again soon!

Sunshine Friendship and Action Wobble

Hello my friends and welcome to my first card as a member of the Action Wobble design team.

My first post using an Action Wobble is what I call Sunshine Friendship.  I thought the flowers would be perfect to use with an Action Wobble.  I stamped the images, colored them and then cut them out using the matching die set from Lawn Fawn.  I chose one flower to 'wobble'.
An Action Wobble is a little spring that you adhere to your card base and your die cut/cut out image that will make your image shake around.  I tried to get a picture of the image wobbling but my eye hand coordination and having to use a camera just didn't work out....but here's a picture of the wobble itself.

Here's a list of the supplies I used to create this card.
COPIC Xpress It Blend It cardstock
‘Blue’ and ‘Brown’ cardstock from stash
‘Desert Storm’ cardstock by Neenah
 COPIC Markers: YR27, Y38, Y35, Y32, G16, G14
‘Our Friendship Grows’ stamp set and matching dies by Lawn Fawn
1” and ¾ “ circle punches by EK Success
Signo white gel pen by Uni-ball

Thanks for stopping by and hope to see you again soon!

Summer Means Pool Time - PND

Hello my friends!  It's time for another Paper Nest Dolls challenge.  This one runs from Monday, 7/7 and run through Friday, 7/18

Last week I hurt my shoulder and it's hard for me to write and color so luckily I had this card in my card stash to use for this post.  And it's a perfect image to use since it's summer time and everyone loves to go swimming.  The image is called 'Pool Time Emma'
She's colored with COPIC markers and unfortunately I can't remember what papers were used.  This stamp image is just of Emma with her little ducky inner tube.  I drew in and colored the sidewalk and grass so she looks like she's standing outside rather than floating in the air.

Winners will be announced on the challenge blog on Sunday 7/6.

Uncle Sam Wants You!!!

Hello my friends!  It's time for another royal challenge from The Scrapbooking Queen!  I hope you join in!

The Scrapbooking Queen runs a monthly challenge. If you go to the challenge blog HERE, you can download the IMAGE and check out what the design team came up with.  Every entry in this challenge has an opportunity to win the 'Royal' prize pack from the Royal Castle Shoppe BUT.....if you use our image ...you get ANOTHER entry for a second chance to win.  And we all know that TWO is better than ONE.

As with all of our other challenges you can make any type of project you'd like (i.e. card, layout, altered item, etc.).  So put on your creative hat and join us.

Here's a crazy thought too.....print an extra copy of the image and have your kids color it as well.

Here is my entry for the challenge.  Doesn't this cute little pup make you want to sing 'He's a Yankee Doodle Dandy....'?
I've colored this image with my COPIC markers and used some simple dies to make this clean and simple card.  I love the red, white and blue ribbon I've had in my stash for a while.....I finally get to use it!  Very simple inside finish to the card as well.

You have a whole month (ends 7/29) to create and post a link to your project.  Thanks for stopping by and I can't wait to see what you create.

Move Over Wilma Flintstone!!!

Hello my friends!  Hope everyone has a great start to their first week of summer!  It's time for another Paper Nest Dolls challenge.  This one runs from Monday, 6/23 and run through Friday, 7/4.

For this challenge I'm using 'Cave Girl Ellie' - I just love the zebra print dress and the bone in her hair.  Move over Wilma Flintstone - there's another cave chick in the quarry!  Because I wanted to color her dress black and white I figured the rest of the card would include hot pink.  Who doesn't love hot pink, black and white???
I colored her with my COPICS, used a cloud template I have with my distress ink and sponge dauber.  I also used a grass die from Lawn Fawn and a flattened out paper straw.  The flowers and buttons are from my stash.  The sentiment is from Lawn Fawn's "Critters on the Savannah". This card is also an easel card which makes it really easy to display.

Here's a close up of Ellie...

Winners will be announced on the challenge blog on Sunday 7/6.

Bravo Grad - PND Challenge

Hello my friends!

Well, it's time for another challenge at The Paper Nest Dolls.  This 'Anything Goes' challenge starts Monday, 6/9 and ends Friday 6/20.

It's graduation season so today I'm using an older PND image (available in rubber) called 'Graduation Owen'. I always seem to use one of the PND girl images (Avery, Ellie or Emma) so today I'm giving Owen some love!  He's colored with COPIC markers and the papers are from Simple Stories Snap Color Vibe paper pad.  The 'Bravo' is from a Hero Arts stamp set called 'Yay!'....how appropriate!!!

Here's a close up of Owen...

Winners will be announced on the challenge blog on Sunday 6/22.

A 'Teddy Bear' Challenge from TSQ

Hello my friends!  It's time for another royal challenge from The Scrapbooking Queen!  I hope you join in!

The Scrapbooking Queen runs a monthly challenge and this month the theme is "#7 Teddy Bears" .

When you check out the design team projects keep your eye out for a very special entry made by one team members 4 year old daughter, Emily Grace!  She colored the bear all by herself and did a mighty fine job I might add!

Here is my entry for the challenge.  I love this little bear and the big, ole' daisy!

I've colored this image with my COPIC markers and used stickles to make the flower sparkly and used some Candi legless brads as embellishments.  The die cut is from Lawn Fawn and the papers are from a couple of Bo Bunny Double Dots pads and a Graphic 45 Botanical Tea pad.

You have a whole month (ends 5/29) to create and post a link to your project.  Thanks for stopping by and I can't wait to see what you create.

Gotta Love Spring Tulips - PND Challenge

Hello my friends!  I'm coming to you from a wonderfully sunny and warm'ish Midwest slice of heaven.  The temps have FINALLY warmed up some but are still a little on the inconsistent side.  75 one day and 62 the next.  But it's better than a foot of snow!

And while I'm thinking of it - Happy Memorial Day to all the veterans and their family and friends.  Thank you for all you do for us!

Well, it's time for another challenge at The Paper Nest Dolls.  This 'Anything Goes' challenge starts Monday, 5/26 and ends Friday 6/6.

Today I'm using a new image (available in rubber) and her name is 'Dutch Girl Avery'.  I'm a sucker for flowers and who doesn't love tulips!  And I've colored the tulips in a two-tone pink and yellow combination.  Very easy to do and such a wonderful look.
I colored her with my COPIC markers and used quite a few of them.  The dotted background is a colored vellum from Doodlebug which I love.  I ordered just about every color they make.  The flower embellishments are cut from the same vellum with the Die-namics 'Layered Rose' die.

Here's a close up of Avery all colored up!!

Winners will be announced on the challenge blog on Su, day 6/8.

Sunflower Ellie

Hello my friends!  It's time for another challenge at The Paper Nest Dolls.  This 'Anything Goes' challenge starts 5/12/14 and ends 5/23/14.

Today I'm using a new image (available in rubber) and her name is 'Sunflower Ellie'.  I just love sunflowers and I think she looks adorable in her little overalls.

This time I switched it up a bit and she's colored with my Prismacolor pencils and Gamsol.  I've been coloring everything lately with my Copic markers that it was nice to use another medium.  Maybe next time I'll use my Inktense watercolor pencils and see what happens,  It's great to have choices!

We're offering to one grand prize winner (randomly selected) a $20 online gift certificate for the Top pick when a Paper Nest Dolls image is used in their entry.  One free digital image each for the Top 3 randomly selected entries (not required to use a Paper Nest Dolls image) will be given as well.  Winners will be announced on the challenge blog on 5/25/14.

Hey, Hey....I'm Royal!!!!

Have I got some exciting news!  I have been asked to be a part of The Scrapbooking Queen's Royal Challenge design team.  See?  I always knew in my heart I was a Princess!!!!

The Scrapbooking Queen (aka Theresa) runs a monthly challenge and this month it's challenge "#5 My Little Pony".   If you go to the challenge blog HERE, you can download the IMAGE needed to participate in this month's challenge and check out what the design team came up with.  You MUST use the same image the design team uses in order to be eligible for the 'Royal' prize pack. You can make any type of project you'd like (i.e. card, layout, altered item, etc.).  So put on your creative hat and join us.

For my project this month I colored the image in shades of pink...who doesn't LOVE pink??  And as I was searching for a sentiment for my card I came across a stamp set from Mama Elephant that had the sentiment "PINKY PROMISE'...how perfect is that for my little pink pony??????
Now I tried something on this card that I've never done before.  I printed the digital image a few times and cut them out to stack them to make a 3D image....I think it looks really cool!

Now it's time to see what you create for the challenge.  You have until April, 29, 2014 to link up your project.

Thanks for stopping by and hope to see you again soon!
